Ringwood Movie Makers have been one of the most successful clubs in Australia.
We have been running for more than sixty years. Formed in 1956 by a group of enthusiasts using film cameras we have kept pace with developments in technology and our members now use a variety of equipment to produce movies, including camcorders, DSLR's, mobile phones & drones. Although the trend is to widescreen movies, our equipment can cater for 4:3 in USB, DVD or Blu-ray.
Our members have a wide variety of interests which lead to production of documentaries, comedy, drama and animation. Our meetings are held on the first and third Fridays of each month, except December when we meet on the first Friday only and January when we do not meet.
We hold four main competitions each year where members vie with one another for a place in the Movie of the Year Competition.
Members also form groups to produce movies for the annual Group Movie Competition.
We exchange ideas, help each other on projects and technical issues, co-operate in productions and generally follow the motto "make movies - make friends".
Throughout the year our syllabus includes speakers on many aspects of movie making. There is always an opportunity for members to show their movies and ask for comment or assistance in a supportive environment.
